Master Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Effective 26 August 2026
1. Who we are
Offshore VC LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company ("Offshore", "we", "us") operates this website and every product listed in the Schedules below. This policy explains what we collect across all of them, why, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. Where a product needs something specific, its Schedule adds to — never subtracts from — the protections in this main policy.
Contact for any privacy question, data access request, or deletion request: offshore.vc@gmail.com.
Business mailing address: Offshore VC LLC, 945 Lake Murray Blvd, Ste D PMB 206, Irmo, SC 29063.
2. Our approach to data
Across every product: we do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We do not run third-party ad trackers or build advertising profiles. We use a small number of processors, each of which only receives what it needs to do its job — the specific list for a product is in that product's Schedule. We may disclose data if we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
3. Security
Access to your data is enforced at the database or storage level, so one account cannot read another's. All traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Where a product handles payments, card data never reaches our systems — that is handled entirely by our payment processor. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
3a. If something goes wrong
If we discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will investigate immediately, take steps to contain it, and notify affected users by email without undue delay (and in any case within 72 hours of becoming aware of it where the law requires that), along with what happened, what data was involved, and what you should do. We will notify regulators where we are obliged to.
4. Your rights
Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. Email offshore.vc@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will never charge you or degrade your service for exercising these rights.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our lawful bases are: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests (preventing fraud and abuse), and our legal obligations (keeping financial records where a product involves payment). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority, and we would ask that you raise it with us first so we have a chance to put it right.
If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
5. Children
Our products are not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
6. Changes
If we change how we handle your data, on this policy or on any Schedule, we will update the relevant page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you inside the affected product before it takes effect.
7. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints: offshore.vc@gmail.com.
Schedule 1 — Speedrun
Applies in addition to Sections 1–7 above. Covers the Speedrun browser extension and the speedrun.study website.
S1.1 What we collect
| Category | What it is | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier | Your email address and a generated user ID. A password hash if you sign up with a password (we never see or store the password itself). | To create your account, sign you in, and attach your credit balance to you. |
| Credit and purchase activity | Your credit balance, every credit added or spent, and a record of each purchase (amount, date, and the Stripe identifiers for it). | To run the paid features, keep your balance correct, and support refunds and billing questions. |
| Assignment activity | The title of an assignment you run, when you ran it, how many questions it covered, how many were correct, and the time it took. | To show you your own completion history, accuracy, and time saved, and how your performance changes over the semester. This history is tied to your account and syncs across devices, so it follows you if you sign in on another computer or reinstall. |
| Referral data | Your referral code, and which account referred you if you used someone's link. | To credit referral rewards and to prevent people farming rewards with fake accounts. |
What we do not collect
- The questions you run, or the answers to them. Nothing about the content of your coursework is written to our database. See S1.3.
- Your browsing history, or any activity on sites unrelated to your coursework.
- Your grades, transcripts, student ID, or any record held by your school.
- Your card number. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never receive or store card details.
- Your location, contacts, microphone, camera, or files.
S1.2 How the extension accesses pages
The extension runs only on the coursework pages it is designed to work with, as declared in its manifest. It does not read, monitor, or transmit anything from any other website you visit. It has no access to other tabs.
Nothing is collected until you sign in and start a run. Installing the extension alone does not send us any data.
S1.3 How questions get answered
When the extension meets a question it has not seen before on this device, the question text and its on-screen answer options are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which returns an answer. We do not keep that question or that answer. There is no copy on our servers, no log of it, and nothing tying it to your account. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, content sent to its API is not used to train its models.
Once a question has been answered, the answer is cached in your own browser's extension storage so the same question is not paid for twice. That cache lives on your computer, is never uploaded to us, and is deleted when you remove the extension or clear its data.
S1.4 Who we share data with
| Processor | What it receives | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Account, credit and assignment data | Database, authentication, and server functions |
| Anthropic | The text of a question and its answer options, at the moment it is answered. No account identifier is sent with it. | Producing the answer. Not retained by us; not used to train Anthropic's models. |
| Stripe | Email address and purchase amount | Payment processing, receipts, and subscription billing |
| Vercel | Standard web request data for speedrun.study | Website hosting |
S1.5 Where data is stored, and for how long
Data is stored on servers in the United States. If you use a product of ours from outside the United States, your data is transferred there; the processors listed above each provide standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms, which is what covers that transfer. We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, credit history, assignment history and referral records.
One exception: purchase records are kept for up to seven years because tax and accounting law requires it. There is nothing else left behind — question and answer content is never stored, so a deletion has nothing to leave in place.
S1.6 Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics in the extension or on speedrun.study. The extension stores your signed-in session using the browser's own extension storage, which is what keeps you logged in; it is not a tracking cookie and is not readable by any website you visit. We do not track you across sites, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not respond differently to Do Not Track signals because we do not track in the first place.
Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page, which is hosted on Stripe's domain and covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
Schedule 2 — offshorevc.com
Applies in addition to Sections 1–7 above. Covers this website only, as distinct from any product we operate.
S2.1 No analytics
There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, and no third-party script of any kind on this site. We do not know how many people visit this site or who they are.
S2.2 No cookies or storage
This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
S2.3 No forms, no accounts
There is nothing here to fill in and nothing to sign up for. Every asset is served from this domain; your browser contacts no one else.
S2.4 Server logs
Our host, Vercel, records standard technical request data such as IP address, timestamp and user agent, as any web server does. We do not use it to identify or profile anyone, and it is retained on Vercel's own schedule.
S2.5 If you email us
We keep your message and address in order to reply. Nothing else, and we do not add you to any list.
Products are governed by their own Schedule above, on top of Sections 1–7. Questions, or a request to access or delete anything: offshore.vc@gmail.com. See also our master terms of service.
